Located in Union Park, Downey Park is a 47-acre community park featuring a splash playground, a baseball and softball complex, picnic pavilions, an inclusive playground for kids with special abilities, a fitness area, and an off-leash dog park.

Splash Pad

This large gated splash park features a jellyfish interactive water structure and is free to enter. The park also has a covered playground, sports fields, a disc golf course, and a fishing pier. This park is open daily from 10 am-6 pm. Guests can also enjoy the adjacent hiking trails and walking paths.

Baseball and Softball Complex

The perfect place to hone your skills and play ball, the baseball and softball complex is a great spot for youth and adult players. This facility hosts many tournaments and leagues throughout the year, making it the ideal location for both amateur and professional athletes to train and compete in Central Florida.

The onsite Boombah Sports Complex features state-of-the-art fields that are championship-ready for all ages and abilities. It is centered around a three-story air-conditioned dome that provides a large room for officials, hospitality, coach meetings, and seed meetings.

The park offers other amenities including picnic pavilions, an inclusive playground for children with special needs, a fitness area, sand volleyball, and an off-leash dog park. Downey Park features picnic pavilions with grills, a shaded playground, sports fields, and a fishing pier. The park is also home to a splash playground, baseball complex, inclusive playground for kids with special needs, calisthenics area, and off-leash dog park.

The park’s off-leash dog park offers shade and seating for pet parents, and there are large spaces for both small and large dogs. The park also has time-out pens, which can be helpful in dispersing an overstimulated dog or separating two dogs that are fighting.

Fitness Area

Located at 10107 Flowers Ave, Downey Park is an excellent place for families to visit and spend the day. It features a public splash pad that is like a small water playground for children, as well as an off-leash dog park and a fitness area.

The fitness area includes a set of calisthenics equipment, including pull-up bars, parallel bars, a vertical/Swedish ladder, an abs bench, and lower bars for pushups or rows. It also has a nice grassy area where you can do your workout or simply sit and watch the kids play.

Downey Park is operated by Orange County and offers a variety of recreational programs and activities for all ages. The park hosts several events throughout the year, such as Teen Hype Night and Santa’s Wacky Wonderland.

Off-Leash Dog Park
