Getting There
There’s nothing like a stroll through the serene beauty of Harry P Leu Gardens. Located about 2.7 miles from Downtown Orlando, this botanical garden showcases a myriad of plant collections.
From camellias and vegetable and herb plots to a butterfly garden and tropical stream garden, this 50-acre paradise provides a peaceful retreat from the city’s frenetic theme parks. Guided tours of the Historic Leu House Museum, a two-story farmhouse built in the 1880s, are also available.
Please note that the grounds and buildings are a living ecosystem, and some activities such as maintenance or events may cause some noise or disruption during your visit. In addition, it is against Park Policy to climb garden structures or trees, take plants home, smoke tobacco, use e-cigarettes, or bring food or drinks into the Gardens or Historic Leu House Museum. The gardens are a beautiful place to stroll around and have 10 different types of smaller garden areas including the rose garden, idea garden, white garden, and more. They also have many different exotic plants and trees. They have many different events throughout the year. Some of their most popular ones are the Christmas event and the dinosaur-themed event during spring.
The Leu Gardens is a must-see destination for nature lovers and art enthusiasts. Wander through the lush grounds to admire awe-inspiring blooms and explore the gardens’ collection of tropical plants, including an impressive Palm section with more than 400 species suited to Central Florida.
Be sure to bring your camera and take plenty of pictures. But remember that flash photography is not allowed. The Gardens are also home to several works of art, such as the Doves of Peace statue by Bob Winship and the “Grove Diptych” by John Catterall. Leu Gardens also hosts various community events, such as Movie Night held the first Friday of every month where guests are invited to bring a blanket and watch a movie under the stars for only $7!
